Truth and Reconciliation Day

Thank you to Imperial Oil for the valuable experience of raising a tipi at JAWS. Our students learned about virtues and tradition as they listened to the Elder guiding us through the process. Today we wore orange shirts and ribbon skirts to recognize Truth and Reconciliation day. We used chalk and leaves to write messages of hope for our entrance way. Foods class made bannock. We enjoyed Indian tacos for lunch and a huge thanks for the donation of fried bannock from Kookum Rita Gladue it made the dish delicious!Thank you to all who made this day as meaningful as possible: La Biche County, Lac La Biche RCMP, Beaver Lake Cree Nation, Kookum Rita Gladue and Imperial Oil.
