The LLB Festival of Trees is only possible because of the support of our community. The Festival is designed to bring HOPE and JOY to the county and GIVE BACK to the community in various ways:
- Family and children's activities: to participate in at very little cost or FREE
- Santa’s Helpers: collection of new toys for local campaign and or money donation
- Food Bank and Stone Soup: items collected and delivered or money donation
- Out of the Elements Shelter: items collected and delivered (new or used warm clothing) and/or money donation
- LLB Human Society: Kitty litter donations
- Santa visits and pictures: money raised by the Lac La Biche Kinettes
- Santa letters: to be sent so children can get a letter back
- An opportunity for local businesses and groups to advertise their group and community support by creating a decorated tree and donating it or even volunteering!
- Tree raffle: with price set at $1.00 so any family can win
- Some of the proceeds from the tree raffle go to JAWS Leadership, Student Union, Art, Music, Phys Ed. and other school groups who volunteer at the festival. After expenses, the proceeds are donated back to community children groups and non-profit organization
- The LLB Servus Credit often assist with volunteering to help this event run smoothly
- Sneak and Peak: FSCC Senior outing with ride included
- Senior Tea: money raised by the LLB Boreal Explorers Junior Forest Warden Club
- Concession Booth raising money for JAWS Athletic program
- Pet and Cuddle and 50/50: raising money for reading program at Human Society
- Kids Sports Pancake Breakfast: supporting needy sport kids with fees
- Concert: enjoy listening to various school bands and choirs as they perform and raise money for their music programs
- Portage Gingerbread Challenge: try your creativity at making a gingerbread house and winning. money raised for Student Award program
- Learn to Curl FUN Bonspiel: Sponsored by the Festival- Fun Fit Friday event
- Cenovus FREE Santa Skate: get out there and skate on them
- ALPAC FREE Family Swim :get out there and have a swim on ALPAC
- LLB Dance Club Spagetti Supper and Show: YUMMY
- Cenovus Child Mind: pre-book for two hours
- LLB Gymnastic Society: evening out
- The Fabulous North Art Show and Exhibit: wander through the amazing local art talent, solve the puzzle for fun and vote for your favorite piece!
- Park and Ride: Hop on a warm bus and let us drive you there-money going to LLB Interpretive Society
- Rotary Brunch: always a DELICOUS time while raising money
- Children receive a FREE book: sponsored by PAL Community Learning
- Free Hot Chocolate: sponsored by Healthy Families Health Kids
- An event for local students to volunteer at and learn citizenship skills
- And more!
STAND ALONE EVENTs HAPPENING on the same weekend:
- Shopping Extravaganza: Separate event held at the same time at The Bold
- Vendor Donation Raffle: with proceeds going to the Kids are Worth It food program
- An opportunity for local venders to sell their wares
- An opportunity for non-profit groups to raise money for their programs by obtaining a table at no cost
- Opportunity for a non profit group to volunteer to help and receive an honorarium
- Santa Parade: starts the weekend up town with LIGHT UP THE NIGHT right after.
- Hockey Tournament: come watch and cheer on the local team
